Georgian Interior Minister personally heads operation to detain armed group

Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug. 29 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / Georgian Interior Minister Bacho Akhalaia is personally heading the operation to capture the armed group that has penetrated into Georgia. Additional police and the Interior Minister arrived in the Telavi region (Kakheti, eastern Georgia) to attend the place where the operation against an armed group will be held. The operation is being held about 30 kilometres from the village Lapankuri in the woods near the border with Dagestan. A special group that transferred from the Defence Ministry to the Interior Ministry two weeks ago joined the operation. According to the official information of the Interior Ministry, an operation is being conducted in the Telavi district to detain an armed group that has penetrated from Dagestan into Georgia.
