General guidelines for Mongolia’s development until 2025 approved

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 28, the Parliament of Mongolia, State Great Khural approved a parliamentary resolution on the approval of five-year general guidelines for the development of Mongolia in 2021-2025. Containing proposals from government administrative organizations, academic institutions, professional organizations, universities and private sector, the general guidelines outline 9 goals divided into 47 targets in consistent with the Vision – 2050 – Mongolia’s long-term development policy. The document has 9 groups: National Shared Values, Human Development, Life Quality and Middle Class, Economy, Governance, Green Growth, Peaceful and Safe Society, Regional and Local Development, Ulaanbaatar and Satellite cities. The document is expected to make clear of medium term priority goals for the development of Mongolia, and pave the way for the achievement of substantial implementation of long-term development policies, while aiming to carry out large-scale investment projects and fully and efficiently mobilize all possible sources of financial investment. The session also adopted a resolution ‘Approval of the Action Plan of the Government of Mongolia for 2020-2024’. The action plan was formulated in line with Mongolia’s National Security Concept, Vision – 2050 long term policy document and general direction for the development of Mongolia in 2021-2025, reflecting suggestions from the government and non-governmental organizations, professional unions, private sector and academic organizations. The action plan includes policies in six main areas, such as overcoming the social and economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, human development, economic, green development, governance and capital city, regional and local development policies.
