Foreign Ministry: Azerbaijan's success in foreign policy proves its optimality

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.23 / Trend S. Agayeva / Azerbaijan's varying successes achieved in foreign policy in 2011 proved its optimality and balance, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in its report for 2011. As an example it is sufficient to mention Azerbaijan's election to leading UN agency, the United National Security Council and the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with international organisations and foreign countries, the Foreign Ministry said. Azerbaijan has been elected to the UN Security Council for 2012-2013. Last year the country managed to maintain internal stability, develop the economy, improve social and energy security, as well as democratic processes and institutions, the ministry's report says. The document says that the results achieved pose new challenges for the country in the near future, opening up new opportunities to ensure the country's long-term interests. 'Azerbaijan faces challenges to expand the country's authority and effectively use achieved positions and diplomatic potential,' the report says. Do you have any feedback?
