FOREIGN MINISTERS EXCHANGE MESSAGES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 20th anniversary of signing the Treaty on friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Russian Federation (RF), the Foreign Affairs Ministers L.Bold and S.Lavrov have exchanged messages. Mongolia-Russia good nieghborhood and traditional relations have been enriching with new contents, overcoming many challenges, Mr Bold says in his message. A signing of the Treaty laid the legal and ideological basis for developing the equal and mutually-beneficial cooperation between the two countries in all spheres, he adds. Mr Bold underlines that Mongolia will keep adhering to its policy on developing the relations with the Russian Federation in accordance with strategic partnership ideology. The Russian FM Lavrov says the bilateral relations reached a strategic partnership level, and that is is important to fortify the ties for the sake of international and regional peace, security and the interests of people of the countries. The Mongolia-Russia Friendly Relations and Cooperation Treaty was signed on January 20 of 1993 by P.Ochirbat, the first President of Mongolia, and by the first President of Russia B.N.Yeltsin in Moscow.
