FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS SPECIAL ADVISOR TO JAPAN’S PRIME MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar met with K.Sonoura, Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan on August 28. At the meeting, the sides expressed satisfactions with strengthening bilateral talks on politics, security and defense and with successful implementation of strategic and policy consultative meetings. Moreover, they discussed about on current state and perspectives of Mongolia-Japan relations, exchanging views on upcoming high-level visits and activities to be held in the near future. Mr. Sonoura expressed gratitude to Mongolia for its great contribution to ensuring sustainability and security in Northeast Asia through actions such as hosting Ulaanbaatar Dialogue. Moreover, the sides noted that the two countries, as partners that share common democratic values, have been deepening cooperation in regional and international platforms. The Japanese side briefed its policies on foreign relations and security, including Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy, and affirmed its stance to support Mongolia’s effort on being part of multilateral cooperation mechanism in Asia-Pacific region, especially in East-Asia high-level meeting.
