First foreign visit of President Zhaparov to Russia discussed

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received on Monday Russian Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Nikolay Udovichenko, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the content of the upcoming events at the highest level with the participation of the leadership of the two countries, exchanged views on a number of current issues of the Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral cooperation, including on overcoming the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as within international organizations and regional associations. Ruslan Kazakbaev noted the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to the upcoming visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the Russian Federation, which should lay the foundation for effective political interaction in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust in the spirit of allied relations and strategic partnership. The minister said that during the upcoming foreign policy contacts the Kyrgyz side expects to discuss issues in the economy, agriculture, creation of favorable conditions for mutual trade, implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, subsoil use and industrial cooperation. For his part, Ambassador Udovichenko confirmed the readiness of the Russian side to hold a substantive dialogue on these topical issues on the agenda of Kyrgyz-Russian bilateral relations, and assured that he would inform Moscow on all the issues identified by the Kyrgyz side.
