Fire occurred at Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline section

Taghiyeva / Fire occurred at the Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline section, transporting Iraqi oil to Turkey, in the Turkish province of Sirnak, Sabah newspaper said today. Fire has not been extinguished yet. Oil pumping through the pipeline was temporarily suspended. Earlier, PKK militants repeatedly created diversion at this pipeline. The pipeline was blown up in early August last time. Then oil pumping to Turkey was halted for a week. The conflict between Turkey and the PKK requiring the creation of an independent Kurdish state has been on-going for more than 25 years.
