Tehran, April 5, IRNA – Head of Iran-Turkey Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation Mahmoud Vaezi said here on Sunday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is to pay an official visit to Iran on Tuesday.
Talking to reporters, Vaezi underscored that Erdogan was set to visit Iran on Monday (April 6), but the Turkish side announced that the visit will be made on Tuesday.
Erdogan is to visit Tehran upon an official invitation by his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani.
According to a joint statement issued in Tehran and Ankara Saturday on the eve of the visit, during his stay in Iran, the Turkish president is to exchange views on issues of mutual interest with President Rouhani.
He is also scheduled to be received by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
President Erdogan will be heading a high-ranking delegation which consists of a number of Turkish ministers.
The Turkish delegation is to hold separate meetings with the Iranian ministers discussing mutual cooperation in all fields.
The second meeting of the High Council on Iran-Turkey Strategic Cooperation is also to be held during President Erdogan’s stay in Tehran.
The first meeting of the council was held in Ankara in June 2014 when President Rouhani visited Turkey.
