Dushanbe hosts meeting of Kyrgyz, Tajik top diplomats

Bishkek, Nov. 19, 2020. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev met with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin during his working visit to Tajikistan.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held in a narrow and extended formats.
At the beginning of the conversation, Kazakbayev briefly informed about the development of the domestic political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The two foreign ministers discussed a wide range of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik bilateral relations, prospects for further development of cooperation in political, trade and economic, water and energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Kazakbayev and Muhriddin agreed to intensify the work of the parties in the framework of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission for the comprehensive consideration of bilateral issues, the next 17th meeting of which is scheduled for 2021 in Bishkek.
At the suggestion of Kazakbayev, the ministers reached an agreement to study the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Business Council, as well as joint ventures in the border areas.
In order to develop transport cooperation, Muhriddin proposed organizing online consultations between representatives of aviation agencies of the two countries in the near future.
The importance of continuing the meetings of the working groups of the Kyrgyz, Tajik government delegations of was especially emphasized with a view to accelerate the process of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border on a regular and permanent basis.
The parties agreed to develop in a short time a Program of step-by-step measures (Road Map) to address bilateral pressing issues.
Following the negotiations, the Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan for 2021-2022 was signed.
