Diplomat: Palestine Still Topmost Issue In Iran Foreign Policy

Baku, June 12, IRNA – Head of Foreign Ministry’s Int’l Political Affairs Office Eshaq Ale-Habib said at Baku Confab in Defense of Palestine that Palestine issue is still among priorities in Iran’s foreign policy, as it has been ever since victory of Islamic Revolution.
Speaking on behalf of Iran at Baku Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers Conference Ale-Habib added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has left no stone unturned in its efforts aimed at decreasing the pains and sorrows of the Palestinian nation.”
He also said that Tehran has always been the pioneer of forwarding material and spiritual support for the oppressed people of that land.
The Iranian diplomat pointed out that Iran has everywhere defended the absolute right of the ˈPalestinian nation and the need for establishment of the independent Palestinian country with Holy Qods as its capital city, emphasizing that peace talks with the Zionist regime have never been, and will never be of any use.”
He said, “Some countries unfortunately lower the level of Palestine issue to a very low level and diminish the sever problems with which the oppressed Palestinians are entangled to financial problems. We believe the OIC must spend double efforts aimed at materializing the ratification in its resolution on Palestine.”
Ale-Habib added, ˈMeanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to its responsibilities in the framework of the Holy Qods Fund, which were ratified at Palestine Committee of the Tehran Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit.ˈ
Among the ratifications at the Baku Foreign Ministers Conference of the OIC there is the issue of the need to establish the Islamic Network for Financial Support of Palestine and Rural Development of Holy Qods.
The prominent personalities at the OIC conference included the OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, and the foreign ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Egypt, Palestine, Bangladesh, and representatives of some international organizations, such as the ICESCO, the PGCC, and political envoys of some foreign countries./end
