Deputy FM discuss with observers of Turkic Council preparation for elections in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2020 / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Azizbek Madmarov discussed a number of issues regarding preparation for the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan on Oct. 4, 2020 with the International Observer Mission of the Turkic Council, headed by Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Gizmat Gozalov. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed the complex of measures undertaken by the Ministry aimed at assisting in the implementation of the electoral rights of citizens of Kyrgyzstan living or being outside the country, taking into account the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological safety and protection of citizens' health. The deputy head of the secretary general, on behalf of himself and the international mission of observers of the Turkic Council, expressed gratitude for the invitation to the current parliamentary elections and expressed hope that the elections will contribute to further progress and stability in the Kyrgyz Republic. The head of the observer mission noted that the Turkic Council already has experience in observing elections in the Kyrgyz Republic (parliamentary elections in 2015, presidential elections in 2017). He expressed satisfaction with the current active preparatory process for the elections in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ministry said. In addition, the ministry added that the sides exchanged views on the further development of cooperation within the framework of the Turkic Council and strengthening the potential of this international organization.
