Defence Ministry names those killed in Kazakhstan’s helicopter crash

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 22 / Trend E.Kosolapova / The Kazakh Defence Ministry has announced the names of those killed in the crash of the Mi-17 helicopter near Astana. Among the dead are Captain Talgat Dosanov, born in 1980, Senior Lieutenant Erkin Mahambetniyazov, born in 1988, Senior Lieutenant Zhanbota Kasimov, born 1986 and Senior Lieutenant Akylbek Musin, born in 1978. Today, on Aug. 22, 2012, around 8:00am, a Mi-17 helicopter of the Kazakh Defence Ministry crashed during a training flight in the terminal area of Astana. All four crew members died. An interdepartmental committee has been created to investigate the accident. Representatives of Central Control and Public Safety Aviation, the Ministry of Defence, the Prosecutor's Office, the military investigation department of the Interior Ministry are working at the scene of the accident.
