CSTO: Extremist organizations in Afghanistan focus on Central Asia

Kazakhstan, Astana, Feb.21 / Trend T.Nurmagambetov /
Activity of extremist organizations based in Afghanistan focuses on the Central Asia, CIS Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha said during a video news conference involving Astana, Yerevan, Minsk, Kiev and Chisinau.
"Everything about the attacks and clashes with various groups in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are the result of activity of international extremist and international Islamic organizations. We have information that at all meetings of these organizations in recent years the same decision is made- to send groups to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, to expand their influence in Kazakhstan, send groups sent to Russia, to intensify emissaries' activity, to acquire and create a social base there. Of course, all the activities of groups based in Afghanistan are focused on the Central Asia," Bordyuzha said.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization is the military-political union created by the CIS states. The organization includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
