COVID-19: Hungary provides humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 16, 2020. /Kabar/. Hungary has provided humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan in the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus infection, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported Wednesday.
A meeting of Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, who arrived in Bishkek for working visit within the framework of humanitarian assistance of the Hungarian side was held on July 15.
During the meeting, the Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to the Hungarian Government for the humanitarian aid provided.
Issues related to the implementation of previously reached agreements, as well as issues of further expansion and deepening of Kyrgyz-Hungarian cooperation through the organization of a visit of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Hungary in 2020 were discussed.
In cooperation in the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS, or Turkic Council), the sides noted the positive dynamics in the development of relations, in particular, Hungary's obtaining the observer status in CCTS in 2018, opening of the Turkic Council's Representative Office in Budapest in 2019 and readiness of the Hungarian side to finance the maintenance of this Office.
Peter Szijjarto informed about the intention of the Hungarian side to appoint an ambassador of Hungary to Kyrgyzstan in the near future. The Hungarian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic expressed its willingness to consider visa issues for some EU countries at their request.
The Hungarian side also delivered the assistance provided by Kyrgyz citizens residing in Austria.
Following the visit of the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academies of the two countries.
