Chinese party delegation busy in Vietnam

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on April 14 received a visiting delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and expressed his pleasure at the flourishing development of Vietnam-China ties. At the reception for the delegation led by Hu Chunhua, CPC Politburo member and Secretary of the Guangdong Party Committee, Trong highlighted the outcomes of the economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong and Vietnam ’s localities, voicing his hope that the visit will further enhance the development of the collaboration and exchanges between the two sides. For his part, the guest affirmed that the Party, Government and people of China always attach importance to and hope to expand the traditional friendship and strategic cooperative comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and China, pledging to further the collaboration between Guangdong and Vietnamese localities. The same day, President Truong Tan Sang held a reception for the delegation. The State leader asserted that Vietnam will create very favourable conditions for investors from Guangdong and China in general, with the aim of promptly bringing the trade turnover between the Chinese province and Vietnamese localities to 25 billion USD. Hu Chunhua emphasised that his province will continue to work out a number of programmes aimed to forward its linkups with Vietnam , adding that he hopes the two countries will continue to increase trading activities in order to bring two-way trade to the level of 100 billion USD. Earlier, Politburo member and Hanoi municipal Party Committee Secretary Pham Quang Nghi held talks with the delegation, discussing orientations for cooperation between Guangdong and Hanoi and Vietnam at large. The delegation also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and attended a conference promoting economic-trade ties between Guangdong and Vietnam.-VNA
