China remains one of priority and most important partners of Kyrgyzstan in international arena – Kyrgyz ambassador

Bishkek, Oct. 21, 2020 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the People's Republic of China Kanayim Baktygulova met in Beijing on Oct. 19 with External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping. According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, during the meeting Ambassador Baktygulova said that at present the situation in Kyrgyzstan is stable, the ongoing political processes have returned to the legal field, all branches of state power are legitimate, and the executive authorities continue to carry out their functions in the regular mode. The ambassador noted that Kyrgyzstan remains fully committed to all of its international obligations and strict implementation of all previously signed bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements. The ambassador also emphasized that China, taking into account the comprehensive strategic partnership, remains one of the priority and most important partners of Kyrgyzstan in the international arena. In turn, Mr. Cheng Guoping noted that China is interested in a prosperous Kyrgyzstan. He expressed hope that the situation will soon stabilize and Kyrgyzstan will return to the path of social and economic development. The sides also discussed issues of cooperation in the political field, cross-border interaction, as well as in the field of security and joint fight against coronavirus infection. Along with this, Cheng Guoping assured the Kyrgyz side that all the issues raised during the meeting will certainly be considered. At the same time, the head of the Chinese side asked to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and investors in Kyrgyzstan, including the safety of the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek, diplomats and their families. Ambassador Baktygulova stressed that the government of the Kyrgyz Republic is taking appropriate measures to ensure the complete safety of foreign investors and foreign citizens carrying out their activities in Kyrgyzstan.
