Central Asian foreign ministers agree on active cooperation with India

Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2021 . / Kabar / . During the participation of Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev in the India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi a meeting was held between foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During his speech, Kazakbaev conveyed the good wishes on behalf of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sincere gratitude for the invitation, as well as the willingness to visit India in January 2022, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
"Special attention was paid to strengthening the institutional framework of the India-Central Asia Dialogue, as well as "synchronizing watches” on the current trade and economic relations between India and the Central Asian countries with a special emphasis on the development and expansion of transport, logistics and communication links", Ruslan Kazakbaev said.
Taking into account the relevance and importance of the environment, The Kyrgyz foreign minister informed about the initiatives of the Kyrgyz side on environmental conservation and development of renewable energy sources taking into account the agreements reached between leaders of Kyrgyzstan and India on the margins of the UN Conference on Climate Change in Glasgow in 2021.
Regarding the prospects of trade and economic cooperation, the PM of India stressed the importance and urgency of speedy implementation of projects under the $1 billion credit line allocated by India to Central Asian states in areas such as IT technology, medicine, education, tourism, transport, logistics and energy.
In conclusion, Narendra Modi emphasized that Central Asian countries are India's extended neighborhood and that every effort should be made to strengthen comprehensive cooperation between Central Asia and South Asia, for which India is ready to provide maximum assistance.
