Campaign for Iran's parliamentary elections' second round kicks off

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 26/ Trend S.Isayev, T. Jafarov/ Pre-elections campaign for second round of elections into Iran's parliament has begun today, IRINN reported. Overall, 130 candidates from 33 constituencies of Iran will participate in the upcoming elections on May 4. Today the PR has been launched in the country to attract more people to vote. Among 130 candidates, 65 will be elected into the country's parliament. The first round of Iran's parliamentary elections was carried out on March 2. Five of the 30 MPs who represent Tehran province in the Parliament have already been elected. Another 25 MPs will be elected in the second round of elections from more than 50 candidates. The Iranian parliament consists of 290 members. Prior to the elections, 33 parliamentarians were rejected by Iran's Guardian Council for participation in the upcoming voting. 65 percent of eligible voters participated in the first round of parliamentary elections in Iran, according to country's Interior Ministry.
