Cabinet meeting in brief
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the cabinet meeting, which ran Thursday instead of Saturday, several Ministers were obliged to set up a working group with responsibilities for monitoring an assessment of capitals which have been offered to the Decision Performing Service for the payment, accepting them as state properties and exploiting them in beneficial ways.
It is done with a key purpose to tackle the debt to be paid off by the "Altandornod Mongol" LLC in accordance with international arbitration court decision made in April of 2011.
- The cabinet discussed a draft law on exemption of customs tax and VAT, and decided to submit it to parliament. The bill reflects that imported facilities, equipment, construction materials and other related products should be freed from the VAT and customs tax in frames of a project on producing fuel products from oil, schist and coal.
- The cabinet decided to submit a draft amendment to the parliamentary resolution appendix on registering specific deposits of coal, gold and rare minerals in the list of strategically important mineral deposits. Accordingly, the mineral deposits of Khoshoot, Tsaidamnuur, Gatsuurt, Khalzanburgedei, Lugiin Gol, Mushgia Khudag and Khotgoriin Gazar have been involved in the list.
- A bill on investigative service and a draft resolution of parliament on approving the "Green Civilization" developmental strategy will be submitted to the State Great Khural. The cabinet also backed in principle a draft recommendation of the National Security Council (NSC) on saving water reserves, preventing water shortage and policy on appropriate consumption of water; and a draft decree of the State Head on maintaining a strategic principle of water reservation. Some proposals will be conveyed to the initiators.
- The cabinet approved the Mongolia-EU agreement on partnership and cooperation which was signed on April 30, 2013 in Ulaanbaatar.
- The Minister of Environment and Green Development S.Oyun was authorized to sign a contract on joining the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) headquarted in Incheon, South Korea.
- MNT 3.8 billion will be allotted from the capital of "Chingis" bonds in accordance with the cabinet decision for expanding roads in the Khan-Uul district, Chingis Avenue and near Yaarmag bridge in a scope of the "Street" project.
- The government allowed the Standardization and Measurement Authority to become a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
- The cabinet approved results of the 13th meeting of the Mongolia-China intergovernmental commission for the trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation held May 20-23 in Beijing, China. The Deputy Prime Minister and head of the intergovernmental commission for Mongolian side D.Terbishdagva was ordered to approve a plan of measures to be taken within the meeting and to control the realization of the works.
- The cabinet adopted the Mongolia-Germany intergovernmental agreement on exempting biometric diplomatic passport holders from the visa requirement which was signed May 8 in Ulaanbaatar.
