Bahrain urges Iran to stop interfering in its internal affairs

Azerbaijan, Baku, May 17 / Trend A. Taghiyeva /
Bahraini Foreign Minister, Sheikh Khalid Al-Khalifa urged Iran to stop interfering in the internal affairs of Bahrain and all the Arab Gulf countries, "Al Arabiya" TV channel said today.
Al-Khalifa voiced this requirement in response to the statements of Iranian officials that Bahrain is Iran's fourteenth province and the Bahrainis do not want to create an alliance with Saudi Arabia.
The minister stressed that Iran's interference in Bahrain's internal affairs has been continued since 1979, but it has recently become even more active, which is unacceptable.
On Tuesday, in response to the decision of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to establish a union, the Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that this decision is a provocative act creating a new crisis in the region.
MP from Zahedan Ali Shahriyari stressed that Bahrain is the 14th province of Iran and it would be more correct to unite it with Iran, rather than Saudi Arabia.
