Azerbaijani FM meets with Polish counterpart

Baku, March 31, AZERTAC Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau during his visit to Baku in the capacity of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. The tete-a-tete meeting between the ministers continued in a wide format with the participation of delegations from both sides. The FMs discussed key issues on the bilateral agenda, expanding cooperation on international platforms, in particular cooperation with the OSCE, as well as regional and international security issues. Minister Bayramov stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relations with Poland, and that relations between the two countries are developing at the level of strategic partnership. In this regard, reference was made to the "Joint Declaration on the Roadmap for Strategic Partnership and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Poland" signed by the two heads of state in 2017. The minister noted that this year is marked by the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed congratulations on this regard. Minister Zbigniew Rau emphasized that bilateral political relations are at a very good level and there are opportunities for further development of relations in the economic sphere. He referred to the meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan with satisfaction. FM Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his Polish counterpart on the post-conflict situation in the region, implementation of trilateral statements and steps taken by Azerbaijan in this regard, the cause of the recent tensions in the region and violation of the provisions of the joint statement by Armenia, as well as reconstruction and restoration work carried out in the liberated territories. The sides exchanged views on Azerbaijan's cooperation with the OSCE, the OSCE's contribution to the post-conflict normalization process, as well as regional security issues, including the situation in Ukraine.
