Azerbaijan to take measures in response to hacker attacks

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 17 / Trend / The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry conducts the extensive investigation of the hackers' recent attacks on the websites of state and public organizations. It will take appropriate steps, based on international experience and the obtained results, Azerbaijani Deputy Communications and IT Minister Elmir Velizadeh said today. The hacker attack has been recently made on information resources of various departments located on the servers of the data-computing center under the Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry and the Special State Protection Service. The problems occurred in a number of websites of state agencies and public organizations. Afterwards the Communications and IT Ministry together with the relevant bodies began analyzing and taking the necessary additional security measures. Velizadeh said that the photos and information were posted on the websites. The form of intervention, information about it, immediately sent to the media, as well as its implementation from different geographical sources, testifies to its purposefulness. However, this attack caused no serious damage thanks to the organization of Internet users in the country, creating the websites and security system. At present, the work of Internet resources has been fully restored. Hacker attacks occur every day in many countries worldwide. "We condemn the acts contrary to law and urge to withdraw them," he said. "At present, the facts of intervention are underway.
