Army Chief: Attack on Thai helicopter will not affect GBC meeting

BANGKOK, December 19 (TNA) - Thai Army Chief General Prayuth Chanocha said on Monday the recent attack on a Thai navy helicopter by Cambodia troops at Thailand’s border province of Trat will not affect the next Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee Meeting (GBC) Meeting, scheduled to be held on December 21. Speaking to reporters at the Royal Thai Army’s Directorate of Armament in Bangkok, General Prayuth also said he believes there have been talks to mend bilateral relations, and that the misunderstanding was rather common for neighbouring countries. The Thai Army chief reassured the public the Royal Thai Armed Forces would remain upright in carrying out its legitimate duties to protect the country. (TNA)
