AMBASSADOR TO USA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the USA Mr B.Altangerel presented Monday his diplomatic credentials to the President of the USA Mr Barack Obama, in Washington D.C.
After taking the credentials, Mr Obama received the Mongolian Ambassador in the Oval Room, the White House.
The Ambassador conveyed the President Ts.Elbegdorj's sincere greetings to Mr Obama and the U.S people. He expressed a satisfaction with widening of the Mongolia-US friendly relations and cooperation lasting over 25 years in accordance with the comprehensive partnership principles. Mongolia considers the USA as its Third neighbour and thanks the USA for supporting the Mongolian democracy, he said.
Congratulating B.Altangerel on becoming the Mongolian Ambassador to the USA, the U.S President expressed a willingness to work with great efforts to deepen the bilateral ties, and noted that Mongolia and the USA have been developing their unique friendship based on common values of democracy and joint interests.
Our nations celebrated last year the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. "In the next 25 years, we will contribute together to ensuring of the regional stability and development," Mr Obama said. He expressed an aspiration to back Mongolia's sustainable development by expanding the bilateral trade relations and the inter-citizen exchange. Mr Obama said the USA highly speak the relations with Mongolia, and underlined he has a willingness to expand these ties.
“I am happy to recall my meeting with the Mongolian President Mr Elbegdorj in 2011,” Obama said, and conveyed his sincere greeting to his counterpart. He said the Vice President Mr Joe Biden and the U.S Secretary of State Ms Hillary Clinton had great satisfaction with their visits to Mongolia.
Mongolia has been a good example by its peaceful transmitting into democracy and forming for the people healthy political and socio-economics environment, the US leader underlined, and congratulated Mongolia on successfully organizing the parliamentary and local elections held last year.
Our nations have been cooperating in many sectors. Mongolian has proven its capability to develop the democracy, freedom and security abroad. The USA and the international community always highly value Mongolia's contribution to peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, South Sudan and other countries, Mr Obama said.
The U.S President congratulated Mongolian on chairing the Community of Democracies (CoD) and on becoming a Participating State of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
