Alak, Kubic Discusses The Importance Of Securing A Constructive Dialogue To Solve Problems Between Baghdad And Erbil

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) -The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahdi Al-Alak discussed with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic importance of securing a constructive dialogue between all political parties to resolve outstanding problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan region. A statement issued by the Cabinet Secretariat said that the two sides discussed the current political situation in Iraq, especially the preparations for the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held in Kuwait next month. The meeting discussed the issue of the upcoming legislative elections and the possibility of conducting them in a timely manner, Kubic stressed the UN support for Iraq and overcome all obstacles and provide possible facilities that provide greater participation of Iraqis by setting them on time. During the meeting, al-Aalak expressed the aspirations of Iraq, the government and people, to increase the support provided by the United Nations to the file of the reconstruction of the liberated cities including the recently liberated, as well as intensify its efforts to invite international organizations and agencies and donor countries to the conference to reconstruct Iraq, to increase international support for the reconstruction of the affected areas and to bring investment to Iraq. For his part, Kubic stressed the United Nations' efforts to provide support to the Iraqi government in the humanitarian response to the displaced and to ensure that the rest of them return to the liberated cities./ End
