Akylbek Zhaparov meets with Minister of Finance of Japan Shunichi Suzuki

Bishkek, Dec. 1, 2022 / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held a meeting with Minister of Finance of Japan Shunichi Suzuki as part of his working visit to Japan.
The minister of finance of Japan noted that he was well acquainted with the Kyrgyz Republic, which he had previously visited as part of a business trip.
“Over the 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries, trusting, friendly relations have developed. I am very glad that the Kyrgyz Republic will be represented at such a high level at tomorrow's Central Asian Investment Forum. To develop the economy, it is necessary to attract as much investment from the private sector as possible. I hope that the forum will help in achieving this and other goals. In turn, we are ready to continue to provide the Kyrgyz Republic with the necessary assistance, including through grants and technical assistance,” Shunichi Suzuki said.
In response, Akylbek Zhaparov stressed that Kyrgyzstan considers Japan as a close and friendly partner, with which it shares the common values of democratic development, political, trade and economic cooperation, which have sufficient potential for further expansion.
“As part of the implementation of the UN General Assembly Resolution on declaring 2023-2027 as the “Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountainous Regions”, the Kyrgyz side proposes to consider the possibility of creating a Mountain Countries Development Fund and signing an Agreement on the avoidance of double taxation with Japan. This will provide Japanese investors with favorable conditions for investing in our country,” said the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed a number of other issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of finance, attracting investments, and developing entrepreneurship.
