Ahmadinejad: Iran supports promoting security in Iraq

Baghdad (NINA) – Kurdistan President, Masoud Barzani, discussed with the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, enhancing and developing bilateral relations in all domains, according to a statement issued by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan PUK’s website. “The brotherly relations join the Islamic Republic of Iran IRI with all nationalities and sects of the Iraqi people, Iran supports promoting security in Iraq because it serves the region’s interests,” Ahmadinejad added during the meeting today. He considered that “security and stability is the basis of development of any people, all nationalities and sects need to work on developing and reconstructing Iraq and serve its people.” For his part, Barzani stressed the necessity of enhancing cooperation between Iran and the Kurdish region in all domains. /End/
