Ahmadinejad admits budget cuts, claims student organizations to be financed

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 10 /Trend S.Isayev, T. Jafarov/ Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has made a rare statement, admitting the government making budget cuts to many organizations in the country, ISNA reported. Speaking before the students at the 6th meeting of Iran' Student Assembly, the president was asked by the students to increase financing of the organizations. "Right now the government is under pressure because of the budget. Financing of many organizations and companies has been cut down to zero, or down by 25 percent," Ahmadinejad said. "Despite these conditions, we will increase financing for student organizations." Iran's president may be facing another impeachment, as members of Iran's parliament are gathering documents regarding the economic situation in the country, and the fall of the national currency. According to the latest reports, 94 parliament members signed the document, that, according to one of the members Mohammad Damadi, will be submitted to the Parliament's panel by the end of this week. While the president said that many organizations and companies have been cut in financing, in September former deputy of oil minister Akbar Torkan said that Iran has gained some $531 billion oil income since 2005 when President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took office. "The 7-year income accounted for 47 percent of Iran's $1116 billion oil income during the past 103 years," Akbar Torkan said on Sept. 4. Do you have any feedback?
