"Abhisit" reports to police

BANGKOK, December 9 (TNA) - Former Thai Democrat prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva reported to police on Friday to be questioned over a bloody military crackdown on red-clad protesters in Bangkok last year while he was in office. Former Democrat deputy prime minister Suthep Thaugsuban, who was in charge of national security at the time of last year's domestic political unrest, reported to police on Thursday. It was the first time that the previous government's leaders were summoned for questioning over their handling of the deadly protest. More than 90 people, mostly red-shirt demonstrators, were killed and nearly 1,900 were wounded during Thailand's April-May political protest last year. (TNA)
