PM: We Will Invest Natural Gas For The First Time In Badia Anbar, Najaf And Nineveh

Baghdad / NINA /- The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, announced "we will invest natural gas for the first time in the Badia of Anbar, Najaf and Nineveh.

 

 Al-Sudani said during his meeting, on Monday evening, with members of the Iraqi community residing in Egypt, during his current visit to Cairo in the Iraqi embassy building, according to a statement by his media office: “We accomplished in the energy and gas sector, within six months, what was not achieved previously, especially in terms of investing in burnt gas.” 

 

 He added, "We will announce the sixth round at the end of this month or mid-July, and for the first time, natural gas will be invested in the Badia of Anbar, Najaf and Nineveh."

 

 Al-Sudani expressed, according to the statement, his pride in meeting the Iraqi community, who form a mini-Iraq of all sects and orientations, and reflect the goodness, values and principles of the Iraqis.

 He continued, "Our relationship with Egypt is based on a common history, and we stress the importance of the role of Iraq and Egypt on the Arab and regional arena, appreciating Egypt's standing after 2003 with Iraq at various stations, and its support in its battle against terrorism, as well as the moderate discourse of the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Foundation."

 

 He explained that the Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation, and what was established by previous governments, is a matter of interest by our government, and it was included in the ministerial program," adding that "we have seriousness and a real desire to enhance the prospects for cooperation with Egypt."

 

 He added, "We were accompanied on our visit to Egypt by a number of businessmen from the Iraqi private sector, which is an empowered and active sector," adding that "the state's interest and the government's direction require that the private sector be a partner in our economic and commercial relations with brothers and friends, which is an approach adopted by the government."

 

 He said, "The government has drawn up a realistic and applicable program, which was confirmed in a three-year budget, which is a reflection of the government's program, and will be a catalyst for financial and economic stability in the country."

 

 He added, "We started building new residential cities and contracted to build bridges and tunnels, and we plan, after approving the budget, for Iraq to be a workshop in all governorates for construction and reconstruction."

 

 We stressed that "we did not focus on the heavy and accumulated legacy, but rather we have a vision, program and priorities to deal with this legacy."

 

 He continued, "Our government has adopted the principle of productive diplomacy in its foreign relations, and we have begun to draw our relations in accordance with the vision of mutual respect, common interests, and economic partnerships."

 

 He pointed to the conclusion of contracts in Germany with Siemens to maintain power stations within five years, a measure that saved 30% of maintenance costs.

 

 The Prime Minister said, "We established the important (Development Road) project for the region and the world, then we held the ministerial conference in Baghdad, and the first phase of Al-Faw Port will be completed in mid-2025."

 

 He added, "Iraq has become a pivotal country in the region, through its role in resolving crises and bringing points of view closer."/ End
