-PAKISTAN TO DECORATE TURKISH PREMIER WITH ITS MEDAL OF MERIT

ISLAMABAD (A.A) - 19.10.2009 - President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan will decorate Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Pakistan's highest ranging medal. 
Prime Minister Erdogan will be paying a state visit to Islamabad between October 25 and 26. 
Pakistani Presidential Office said in statement it posted on Monday that Prime Minister Erdogan would be decorated with Pakistan's state medal of merit because of his contributions to improvement of political and economic relations between the two countries and being a supporter of Pakistan in the international platform. 
The award will be presented to the Turkish prime minister by President Zardari at a ceremony which will be held with the participation of members of the government, jurists, parliamentarians and representatives of foreign missions. 
Prime Minister Erdogan is expected to sign a series of agreements with his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani during his visit to Islamabad. 
Erdogan will also visit Muzaffarabad, capital city of Kashmir, which was devastated by a major quake in 2005. He will inspect humanitarian efforts by the Turkish relief agency, Red Crescent, in the city. The 7.6-magnitude earthquake killed at least 79 thousand people and left thousands of others homeless and destitute.
