Uzbekistan, EU strengthen cooperation

Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2021. / Kabar /. Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva received the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala, UzA reported. The issue of further development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, as well as educational and environmental spheres, including the state and prospects for activating inter-parliamentary ties, was discussed at the meeting. The importance of continuing close coordination and interaction within the framework of the European Union – Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee was noted. Ambassador Terhi Hakala sincerely congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of state independence. The parties expressed interest in completing the draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union. The issue of organizing future events at a high level was discussed. Views were exchanged on the current issues of international and regional policy. The 15th Meeting of the Committee is scheduled for November 2021.
