Uzbekistan donates 3,000 tons of wheat to Kyrgyzstan as humanitarian aid

Bishkek, Nov. 18, 2020 / Kabar /. A ceremony of donation of food aid in the form of 3,000 tons of wheat from Uzbekistan is held on Nov. 17, 2020 in the city of Osh. In accordance with the agreements reached at the highest and high levels between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, the humanitarian aid was donated at the initiative of the head of the neighboring country Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the framework of the fight against coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said. The Uzbek side delivered the food aid by rail to the station of the city of Osh and handed over to governor of Osh Oblast Zharasul Abduraimov. It is also reported that delivery of modular structures to Kyrgyzstan is expected in the near future for the construction by the Uzbek side of two infectious diseases hospitals with 400 beds in the city of Bishkek and in Kadamjai region of Batken Oblast. During the handover ceremony, the Kyrgyz side expressed its sincere gratitude to President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the entire people of Uzbekistan for the help in combating the spread of coronavirus in Kyrgyzstan.
