Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia down due to coronavirus pandemic

Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia decreased due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erkin Asrandiyev told during the 22nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation. He noted that, nevertheless, it gives impetus to make more efforts to improve the situation. Russia’s Vice Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk also stated the coronavirus has made its adjustments. He noted the decline in trade turnover between the two countries. "This situation encourages us to look for new ways to recover," Alexey Overchuk added. Today, Sept. 22 the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek hosts the 22nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation. The meeting is being held within the framework of a working visit by Vice Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk to Kyrgyzstan. The intergovernmental commission of the two countries is chaired by Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev and Vice Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk. Following the results of a meeting a protocol will be signed.
