Team from Kyrgyzstan wins festival in Almaty with film "Latecomer"

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2020 / Kabar /. The second season of the Mobile Blockbuster film festival (MBff) ended in Almaty (Kazakhstan) on Oct. 26.
Producer, PR of the MBff Olesya Kolesnichenko said that this time participants from 11 countries of the world competed in digital art. And the main prize - USD 500 and a commemorative statuette went to the team from Kyrgyzstan with the film "Latecomer".
Mobile Blockbuster film festival (MBff) is a festival of short films shot with smartphones. It originated in Kazakhstan in March this year. The organizers see the main mission of the project as expanding the boundaries of culture, art and entertainment, as well as creating custom creative content. The second season of the festival ran from 15 August to 15 October.
Despite the fact that both seasons were held online, the festival has already reached the international level. In total, the MBff team accepted 50 entries from 11 countries of the world: Kazakhstan, Russia, Bulgaria, Spain, France, Chile, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, India and Poland.
It is noteworthy that one of the significant innovations of the second season was the holding of online training master classes. During two months of the project, nine such seminars were held. Thanks to this initiative, the participants were able to gain basic knowledge on the topics of mobile videography, screenwriting, acting and public speaking, production skills, self-promotion, etc.
All winners received memorable MBff statuettes, electronic certificates and valuable prizes from the Kazakhstan Media Academy, Chaplin Cinemas cinema chain and Meloman store.
