Tashkent hosts photo exhibition of Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov

Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2020 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan, together with the People's Diplomacy Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), organized a photo exhibition in Tashkent on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said that for the first time more than 70 unique photographs from the family archive of Eldar Aitmatov, the son of Chyngyz Aitmatov and the head of the House-Museum of the writer, were presented at the photo exhibition. During the event, the embassy expressed gratitude for the memory and respect for the great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov, who sincerely loved Uzbekistan and its people, the ministry said. In addition, at the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition, a video message from Eldar Aitmatov to the participants and guests of the event was demonstrated. Director of the SCO Center for People's Diplomacy Kobiljon Sobirov, First Secretary of the Embassy Azamat Almanbetov, Head of the Chyngyz Aitmatov Center at the National University of Uzbekistan Akhmadzhon Meliboev, Chairman of the Kyrgyz National Cultural Center in Uzbekistan Rakhmatulla Jabbarov and Executive Director of the Uzbekistan- Kyrgyzstan Friendship Society Zukhriddin Isomuddinov. Representatives of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the diplomatic corps in Tashkent, compatriots, as well as the media took part in the opening of the photo exhibition. The photo exhibition will run until January 22, 2021.
