South Korea to increase quotas for Kyrgyz students

Bishkek, Dec. 1, 2021 . / Kabar / . Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and South Korea Chung Eui-yong met in Dushanbe. The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that the meeting of the two countries took place in the Tajik capital on the margins of the 14th Central Asia - Korea Cooperation Forum. The sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed the prospects for investment, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the light of the bilateral agreements reached as a result of visits at the highest level. The priority of continuation of systematic work in the current economic and post-pandemic situation was emphasized. The interlocutors also touched upon the issue of opening of direct flights, implementation of projects in agriculture, education, healthcare and attraction of targeted investments from South Korea. The Korean side supported the proposals of the Kyrgyz side to strengthen cooperation on the prevention of melting glaciers, the exchange of knowledge between medical workers in the fight against the pandemic. "As part of cooperation in the field of education, the Korean side informed about the decision to increase the quota for students from Kyrgyzstan up to 36," the report said.
