Russian Embassy, WHO hand over to Kyrgyzstan kits for emergency medical assistance

Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2020. /Kabar/. The Russian Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Health Organization (WHO) donated to the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan kits to provide medical assistance in emergency situations.
According to the press service of WHO, this humanitarian aid is provided by the Russian Federation through the WHO and includes medical supplies and a specialized medical module to provide primary health care to the affected population in emergency situations, such as earthquakes and flash floods.
The transferred cargo can provide medical assistance to 10 thousand people during three months in the field.
The official ceremony of handing over the humanitarian assistance was attended by deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mademin Karatayev, WHO representative in Kyrgyzstan Nazira Artykova, Russia’s minister counselor to Kyrgyzstan and health workers.
Mademin Karatayev expressed gratitude to Russia and WHO for supporting and strengthening emergency preparedness in the country.
WHO Representative Nazira Artykova stressed the readiness to provide further support to Kyrgyzstan and noted the importance of strengthening emergency preparedness in the field of health care and implementation of international health rules, which will help the country to respond effectively during emergencies.
The cargo with a weight over 4 tons and worth more than $ 42,000 was shipped from the WHO Regional Logistics Center in Dubai.
