Refrigerated trucks for transporting vaccine preparations arrive in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 26, 2021 . / Kabar / . Eight refrigerated trucks were delivered Monday to Kyrgyzstan to transport vaccines. The trucks arrived as a humanitarian aid to the republic, the press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Development said. These vehicles were provided by the Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunization (GAVI) and purchased through the UNICEF Procurement Services in accordance with UNICEF regulations. These vehicles will be distributed among seven Oblast Centers for Disease Prevention and Disease Control, and one vehicle will be given to the National Immunoprophylaxis Center. The refrigerated trucks are designed to transport vaccine preparations at a temperature of +2+80c. The Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunization (GAVI) has been supporting the Government of Kyrgyzstan since 2001 through a number of programs, including support for immunization services, Safe Injection Support, Vaccine Implementation Grant and Health Systems Strengthening (HSS). The GAVI Supported Health Systems Strengthening Project 2016-2020 aims to support or strengthen the health system in reducing child mortality by improving access to basic maternal and child health services, including maintaining at least 95% coverage of preventive vaccinations.
