Record number of COVID-19 cases registered in Kyrgyzstan. 100 new cases reported

Bishkek, June 16, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan confirmed on Tuesday 100 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections to 2372.
Nurbolot Usenbaev, the country’s deputy health minister told a news briefing that 3624 laboratory tests were conducted in the country in the last 24 hours, which detected 100 new cases.
Of the new confirmed cases, 55 cases were identified among the contact persons, 38 are unknown sources and 9 are imported cases, he said.
The official reported one new virus related death, raising the total number of fatalities to 28.
He noted that 34 people were discharged from various hospitals in the country after receiving treatment, bringing the total number of people who have so far recovered to 1847.
Currently, 597 people remained hospitalized, and 6 patients are in intensive care.
In addition, 1671 people who have had contact with infected patients are under medical observation and another 10446 people are in home quarantine under the supervision of doctors.
“Today, the number of new cases of coronavirus infection has increased. Sick people were identified among employees of institutions and various organizations. We recall that this is directly related to non-compliance with sanitary standards and mask regimen. The number of new cases is growing every day," the deputy minister said calling to keep a distance.
