Promotion of Kyrgyz agricultural products in Japan discussed

Bishkek, April 22, 2021 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev discussed bilateral cooperation issues with Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda. The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that the meeting was also attended by Permanent Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Kyrgyzstan Naoyuki Nemoto and representatives of Japanese companies operating in republic. During the meeting, the minister informed the Japanese side about the internal political and economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, and also indicated the invariability of the main directions of foreign policy, including the development of partnership cooperation with Japan. In addition, Ruslan Kazakbaev noted the active work of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at implementing important socio-economic projects, special emphasis was placed on one of such successful projects One Village One Product. Ambassador Shigeki Maeda touched upon issues in the field of trade, investment attraction, development of medicine, agriculture and IT-industry. Specific proposals for expanding business ties with Japan, including the use of the network of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) were voiced. In turn, Permanent Representative of JICA in Kyrgyzstan Naoyuki Nemoto told about the main areas and programs of cooperation, the key policy of which is to support sustainable and balanced economic growth of the Kyrgyz Republic. Further, a constructive dialogue was held with representatives of the business community in Japan, during which the topics of attracting investment, the promotion of Kyrgyz agricultural products in Japan, information technology development, employment of Kyrgyz citizens in Japan, bilateral agreements, creating favorable and favorable conditions for doing business were touched upon. As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue fruitful cooperation, accelerate the development of an agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments, as well as the memorandum on labor migration between the two countries.
