Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov meets with Chinese Ambassador Du Dewen

Bishkek, April 9, 2021. / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov met with Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, the press service of the government reported.
Maripov expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the Chinese government in the form of 150 thousand doses of Sinopharm vaccine against coronavirus infection.
“The head of state expresses his gratitude to the People's Republic of China for providing the Kyrgyz people with the vaccine. On March 29 of this year, the first stage of starting vaccination began in the republic. To date, more than 700 people have received the Sinopharm vaccine across the country. According to doctors, everyone who was vaccinated feels satisfactory, no serious side effects are observed. For us, the priority issue is vaccination of citizens at risk,” said Ulukbek Maripov.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport, trade, investment, resumption of air routes between the countries, including issues on the activities of the Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints.
Ulukbek Maripov stressed that the full operation of the checkpoints will contribute to an increase in cargo transportation and further expansion of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, in which both parties are interested.
Du Dewen informed about the current situation in the implementation of grant projects to provide technical assistance in health and emergency situations and other areas.
The head of government thanked the Chinese ambassador for his assistance in developing bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues, and also expressed her readiness to make every effort to further strengthen bilateral relations and comprehensive strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and China.
