PM Maripov meets with ethnic Kyrgyz in Tashkent

Tashkent, March 26, 2021. / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov met in Tashkent with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora in the village of Manas, Jizzakh Region.
The meeting took place as part of the Kyrgyz prime minister’s working visit to Uzbekistan.
Kyrgyzsytan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Ibrahim Junusov informed that there are 55 schools in Uzbekistan, of which only 14 are Kyrgyz.
During the meeting, the head of the Kyrgyz government conveyed greetings from President Sadyr Zhaparov.
"When the president was here, he couldn't meet with you because of busy schedule. That's why he instructed us to hold a meeting with you," Maripov said.
He also expressed gratitude to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for paying such attention to the ethnic Kyrgyz and building the camp.
Head of the ethnic Kyrgyz diaspora in Uzbekistan Rakhmatulla Dzhabbanov said this is the first time in a 30-year Uzbek history when he was able to meet the Kyrgyz prime minister in person and talk freely.
"We live in good prosperity. Our President Shavkat Miromonovich always says that Uzbekistan is a multinational country. There are conditions for all nations. Schools here provide education in seven languages. Cultural centers also operate," he said.
Dzhabbanov expressed hope that border delimitation and demarcation issue would be resolved to remove all obstacles between the countries.
"On behalf of more than 300,000 ethnic Kyrgyz, I express my gratitude to you. All conditions have been created for our lives here," he said.
Manas village administration head Zhalil Kenzhayev added the village has 6,500 residents, 88% of whom are Kyrgyz.
