The opening ceremony of the photo exhibition "Chyngyz Aitmatov - Singer of Human Values" in honor of the 92nd anniversary of the famous writer, public figure, publicist, philosopher and skillful diplomat was held in Tashkent today, the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan reported.
Director of the Center for People's Diplomacy of the Shanghai Organization in Uzbekistan (SCO Center for Public Diplomacy) in Uzbekistan Kobiljon Sobirov, welcoming the participants of the ceremony, noted that today it is difficult to find a house in Uzbekistan where there is no book of the great writer, a person who has not read his stories and novels.
“Every person who has read the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov will learn from them lessons, conclusions and ideas about life, the world and about humanity in general. There is no doubt that these lessons will motivate him on the path to spiritual perfection and moral enrichment,” he said.
In his welcoming speech, Nurlan Dzhumaliev, Counselor of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan, emphasized that as a son of the Kyrgyz people, Chyngyz Aitmatov combined the culture of many nations in his work, his work is sincerely loved and revered in Uzbekistan.
“Thanks to such Uzbek translators as Asil Rashidov, Ibragim Gafurov, Suyun Karaev, Nabizhan Bokiy, Yakubzhan Khuzhamberdiev, Tulanbai Kurbanov, the Uzbek people were able to perceive all the beauty of his lines,” he said.
The Kyrgyz diplomat emphasized that in 2018, Uzbekistan celebrated the 90th anniversary of the writer at the highest level. “The Kyrgyz people are very grateful to our brothers, the Uzbek people for this warm memory of the writer, which is honored and passed on to the younger generation,” concluded Dzhumaliev.
With the support of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan, unique photographs, kindly provided from the family archive by the son of the writer and the head of his House-Museum, Eldar Aitmatov, were shown at the photo exhibition for the first time.
