Opening ceremony of first IT EXPO Connect.KG held via video conferencing

Bishkek, March 16, 2021 . / Kabar /. An opening ceremony of the first IT EXPO Connect. KG was held on Monday via videoconferencing. The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nuran Niyazaliyev, US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Donald Lu, Japanese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda and British Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Charles Garrett took part in the virtual event. In his welcoming speech, Prime Minister Maripov underlined the growing potential of Kyrgyz IT industry and called on the international participants to active cooperation with the sector. He noted that the sphere of information and communication technologies is a priority on the agenda of the Kyrgyz Government and informed about the measures taken for development of IT. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Nuran Niyazaliyev pointed out that the development of the IT industry and the increase in exports of IT services will contribute to the country's economic recovery from the consequences of COVID-19. In addition, the ambassadors of the United States, Japan and the UK delivered welcoming remarks, stressing the importance of the event and expressing the hope that online meetings to be held during the current week will allow IT/startup companies in Kyrgyzstan to establish cooperation with the world's leading companies to exchange experiences and business outsourcing. IT EXPO Connect.KG will be held on March 15-19. The EXPO will invite local and international participants to attend virtual panel and B2B sessions which will be broadcast live. International representatives from Facebook, Amazon Web Services UK, Cambridge Partnership, Dell, LinkedIn, SAP, Juniper Networks, SeeRem, Clarity Movement Co., EPEM, Nokia, FabLab Bishkek and EGIS along with other industry experts will present webinars on digital marketing, e-commerce and digital transformation. Successful Kyrgyz technology entrepreneurs will share their experiences in the U.S. and international markets and give advice to aspiring IT engineers and programmers. The IT EXPO is supported by USAID and other international and local partners. The main goal of the event is to achieve concrete results in the form of an effective platform that will attract the necessary international attention to the IT sector of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as foreign investment in existing and future IT companies, promote business partnerships between IT companies in Kyrgyzstan and the leading IT companies in the United States, UK, EU, Japan and South Korea, which will stimulate the economy, create new jobs and expand opportunities for Kyrgyz youth.
