Number of drug addicts increases in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 14 / Trend I.Isabalayeva / The number of drug addicts has increased by 4.8 percent in Azerbaijan in 2011 compared to 2010. Some 1,999 drug addicts were registered in 2011, Republican Narcological Center Deputy Director Ayten Samedova told Trend on Tuesday. There 26,176 drug addicts in the country. Last year, there were 25, 489. Only 511 of the registered drug addicts are women. There have been no significant changes in the number of female drug addicts compared to previous years.
