Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2020. /Kabar/. Consolidation of efforts with international partners is important to increase business support, Acting Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, First Deputy Prime Minister Arten Novikov said at a meeting with Director for Central Asia of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Neil Mckain. "I would like to thank for the support provided by the financial institution in the social and economic development of the country. We have a positive experience of joint work since the establishment of bilateral cooperation. The current portfolio of the bank is quite impressive and amounts to USD 330 million; 44 projects are being implemented under government programs alone. The support provided by you to local entrepreneurs is valuable for us. But this is not the limit for our cooperation. Together we can integrate your capabilities and programs of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at stabilizing the economic situation," Artem Novikov said. EBRD Director for Central Asia Neil McCain said the financial institution is ready to continue active cooperation with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. "In the future, there is an opportunity to develop cooperation between other financial institutions that work in the Kyrgyz Republic," he said. During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of priority projects that need to be addressed as soon as possible for their implementation. Artem Novikov instructed the relevant state bodies to study this issue in an expeditious manner. As a result of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the continuation of further fruitful cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
