Kyrgyzstan wins int’l Russia Open tournament in restaurant sports

Bishkek, March 23, 2021. / Kabar /. A team of culinary virtuosos from Kyrgyzstan, headed by chef Tahir Ergashov, won the World Federation of the Restaurant Sports (WFRS) World Cup Russia Open tournament. According to the official site of World Federation of Restaurant Sports (WFRS), the international tournament was held on March19-21 in St. Petersburg. The participants competed in speed, aesthetics and quality of cooking, as well as in the spectacular process of serving dishes. Twelve teams from eight countries participated in the tournament: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, India, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia and Uzbekistan. Six teams, chosen by WFRS panel of judges, made it to the finals. As a result of the tournament, the first place was divided between the St. Petersburg Metro team and the Kyrgyz team. They won the St. Petersburg Government Cup and were awarded three categories of medals and WFRS certificates. According to the organizers, these tournaments contribute to popularization of restaurant service, improvement of leisure culture and strengthening of international relations.
