Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan to strengthen cooperation in sphere of cinema art

Head of the Department of Cinematography of Kyrgyzstan Muktaly Bektenaliev and Director General of the Uzbekkino National Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov held on Tuesday a meeting via videoconference. During the virtual meeting, he sides discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of cinema art, Kabar News Agency has learnt from the press service of Uzbekkino. Muktaly Bektenaliev and Firdavs Abdukhalikov debated goals and objectives of an agreement between leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to bring cooperation in the field of culture and art to a new level. The head of the Kyrgyz Cinematography got acquainted with the reforms carried out in the industry in recent years. Also, during the meeting, proposals for the joint production of films and new projects were made. In particular, the sides exchanged opinions on organization of Days of Kyrgyz cinema in Uzbekistan and Days of Uzbek cinema in Kyrgyzstan this year. Particular attention was paid to the participation of Kyrgyz colleagues in the Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" and young professionals from Kyrgyzstan in the contest of young filmmakers from CIS countries. In order to further develop cultural relations between the two countries, the sides discussed a number of joint projects for the production of films in co-production format and the organization of trainings and workshops for young people. Besides, it was agreed to hold additional negotiations and meetings, as well as to sign a memorandum of cooperation for the joint implementation of planned projects.
