Kyrgyzstan in talks with Kuwait and Russia on resumption of regular flights

Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2020 / Kabar /. Today, the Civil Aviation Agency is negotiating with Kuwait and Russia on the resumption of regular flights, Karim Usmanov, Head of the Department of Airport Certification and Transportation Regulation of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic said. He said that at present, regular flights from the Russian Federation have been resumed in the Moscow - Bishkek direction once a week, and charter flights are also performed with such cities as Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Surgut, Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk. “The Civil Aviation Agency is currently negotiating to resume regular flights with other Russian cities. I would like to note that an agreement has already been reached on the start of charter flights with the cities of Kazan and Krasnodar,” he said. Usmanov also explained the situation with the temporary suspension of flights with the state of Kuwait. “Earlier, on Sept. 10, the Kuwaiti airline Jazeera Airways launched a flight on the Bishkek - Kuwait route. The flight was operated once a week. Unfortunately, flights had to be suspended on Sept. 17 due to low passenger traffic and a quarantine in Kuwait. At present, negotiations on reopening have already begun,” he said. He also added that all relevant negotiations are underway to withdrew the Kyrgyz Republic from the black list of EU countries. “Negotiations are underway with European experts and all ICAO recommendations are being implemented,” the deputy head noted.
